The letters spelling the word Hollywood are 45 ft tall (14 m) and the total sign is 350 ft (110 m) long, making it visible from a huge distance. 2. Las Vegas Sign, Las Vegas, Nevada – The flashing lights of the “Welcome to Fabulous Las Vegas” sign are well known. This landmark was created in 1959 and is considered by some to be the official southern end of the Las Vegas Strip. The sign, like most of the Las Vegas Strip is located in the town of Paradise which is around 4 miles (6.4 km) south of the actual city limits of Las Vegas
3. Reno Arch, Reno, Nevada – The Reno Arch is an iconic landmark of the city of Reno, which spans over Virginia Street. The arch visible today was installed in 1987 and is the third arch installed at this location. The original arch was built in 1926 to commemorate the completion of the Lincoln and Victory Highways. The arch, throughout most of its existence, features the motto of the city – The Biggest Little City in the World
