  • Not fair! I have owned and personally known a lot of dogs from breeds on this list. Not ONE was aggressive. Our Dobie was actually timid and ONLY defensive when he was sick or injured AND was NEVER alpha dog in groups of dogs of “gentler breeds.” All of our pitbulls were and are substitute sitters for our kids also not ever an alpha dog in their packs.

    • Also had a wolf mix that won the hearts of all my family (whom are often very skeptical of dogs) and all of our cats, (whom would massage his back). ????

      • Always remember that any dog and especially aggressive breeds can become unpredictable. You can argue with the statistics, including fatalities of grandmothers and infants. Do not ever 100% trust an aggressive breed and always take precautions.

  • I eѵery time spent mʏ half ann hour to read thiѕ
blog’s posts daily ɑⅼong with a mug of coffee.

  • Husky’s are not as you say. You must be drunk to say such a thing. I look forward to raking you and this sight over the coals for making such a uneducated opinion of Huskies! Idiots! Morons!

    • Fact: Dogs have teeth. ALL dogs CAN bite. So can people. I have a very close friend who was deliberately set up and three pit bulls attacked her. They were attack trained. She coded 7 times before they got her to the hospital. It took an entire 9 mm clip to the brain to kill the male pit bull. This was NOT to dog’s fault. It was the person who set her up fault. So…
I have 2 South African Boerboels. I was attacked in my own home. (I got them, and in particular THIS BREED- because I had been attacked before, in my own home.) Anyway, I was attacked in my kitchen by an idiot who had been staying here. It started with him yelling and screaming and gesturing wildly- My male Boerboel, who was still very much a puppy- (1.5 years max) first watched him and paced. Then the idiot grabbed my wrists. Wrong answer.
Azi (full name is Lysflekk’s Azathoth, anyone recognize the H. P. Lovecraft reference?) LAUNCHED at him. He knocked him off of me, and Into the Pantry!! Wouldn’t let him up until I said so!
Now. If anyone knows of the German Politzi Rottweilers- they train them for crowd control. This is how it works- 1.there is a riot
      2.the Politzi bring the puppies
      3. Puppies are released
      4. People start dropping like pins in a bowling alley.
The dogs bodyslam into the crowd, knocking people down. You would be AMAZED how quickly folks, after being knocked on their asses, will remember how they left something on the stove, or forgot to lock the house, or any number of things they need to take care of as opposed to sticking around in that riot. Know what I mean??

I am a US Army veteran. Worked K-9 Corps. I didn’t TRAIN my dog to do this. He did it all by himself.
All he did was use his feet and chest, and knocked this man across the room and into the pantry. He was bruised, bleeding from Azi’s nails (I needed to clip his nails), avut my boy hadn’t used a SINGLE TOOTH on him! Not once.
I LOVE my dogs. My dogs would die to protect me, and I know it. However- even I am cautious, and know that given the right circumstances? Any dog can be dangerous. It’s all a matter of control and training. Any dog “CAN” bite
They all have teeth! The training is what keeps them FROM indiscriminate biting. But believe me- I love my dogs. They are my world.
Google South African Boerboels. Gorgeous animals!!

  • Why are people that write these article so ignorant when it come to knowing what they are writing about? What do you writers do just go read someone else article that is as ignorant about dogs as you are?

  • You need to do a little more research. Most of the dogs listed aren’t anywhere near what you are claiming they are. More people are bitten by small dogs then larger breeds but the damage a larger dog can do usually gets all the attention. I personally have known several people that have facial scars from small dogs (shih tzu, jack Russell, Chihuahua). A friend of mine had her nostril ripped open from a Chihuahua when she went to give her mother a kiss goodbye. Rottweiler’s by nature are gentle loving dogs but will protect their family and home with their lives. Try reading the akc website to further educate yourself. People by nature are afraid of large dogs and think that small dogs are cute and cuddly. Certain breeds get a bad wrap because of poor owners no different then being a poor parent can yield ill mannered children that have the potential of being horrific adults. Poor quality breeding (inbreeding) can bring out characteristics not usually found in a breed. I have personally had over my lifespan 3 Rottweiler’s, pitbull, 2 pitbull mixes, 2 shepherd mixes, chow mix, greyhound mix, great dane, boxer mix. All the dogs listed I rescued with the exception of the Great Dane. I have trained dogs as well as rehabilitated dogs. I believe the are no bad dogs just bad owners. If you do not understand how dogs think or do not have the ability to read a dogs behavior then you should not have a dog. If a person does not educate themselves before getting a dog then they put themselves as well as everyone else at risk of being harmed no matter what breed it is.

  • Ok, so i just saw alot of ignorant ppl calling others ignorant and i believe ur judging from a sentimental point of view. stop thinking in ur arses and listen up. The dog list shows the dog that has the potential to be the most dangerous, it didnt say that they couldnt be nice and loving and wtf do u know about rottweilers man. Just cuz u owned one doesnt that was chill doesnt make it less dangerous. I had one, had to shoot it cuz i came home in a different shirt and i always treat my dogs with love and care. I could sit for an hour and pet and play with it daily. Of course smaller dogs do participate in attacks as do all dogs. There isnt a single breed of dog that will not attack ppl. And yes huskys do hunt in packs against ppl. The article is not wrong. U raised urs to be loving. cool thats good but whats written here is how dangerous these dogs can be. A chiwawa isnt all that life threaten compared to these and yes size does matter. only an ignorant dumbass wouldnt consider size. I can kick away a chiwawa which makes it less dangerous cuz my kick can kill it but not a pitbull or german sheperd. Those would tear my leg off so naturally they are more dangerous so i repeat once again, they are not saying they cant be loving and kind but when compared these dogs listed has the potential to be the most dangerous of the lot due to their strength intelligence and size bundled with their deadly demenour. Some of these are naturally aggresive but cant u really tell me gorillas arent deadly. they will kill u but they can be trained. Same goes for dogs. Its not about how friendly its about how deadly they can get and these are the ones that can become the most deadly. U even said it urself “More people are bitten by small dogs then larger breeds but the damage a larger dog can do usually gets all the attention” because the damage is more it means more deadly. Nice and simple. A ant is less deadly than a baby scorpion. A small breed of dog is less deadly than a bigger breed so even when the small breeds bite more we wont complain about a scratch but we complain about a chewed off limb. So once again i repeat to ur ignorant dumbass. These dogs have the potential to become the most deadly dog in the world as well as the best cutest dog in the world. But what is written in the article is to educate people about the possible dangers not the possible cuteness. The reason they are here is because they are more deadly than the smaller breeds just like how a cobra is more deadly than a boa. One has poison the other doesnt one dog has big teeth and aggresive nature one has small teeth and aggressive nature but the room for growth in the area is more so for bigger dogs.

      • I’m not going to post out of ignorance but out of experience, I have personally owned 2 Kangals and a Tibetan Mastiff, the fact that they are not in this list whatsoever shows sufficient inaccuracies and malresearch on the part of the writer. Kangals are specifically bred to fend off and even kill the large wolves of of the Kangal region, while protecting hundreds of sheep at the same time, par my experience owning them, combined my Kangals have killed several pit breed dogs, multiple mastiffs, and have mauled a Caucasian Shepherd beyond recognition, they have the strongest bite of any domesticated dog in the world. I do not condone dog fights, however due to leash laws, they shouldn’t have been in our yard in the first place.

    • Very reasonable. And may I just ask you, I wanted to have three dogs dobermann, german shepherd and rotweillers. Can they live together and socialize with kids without harm while being guard dog not pet

  • This is offensive I have a DOBERMAN and a husky and a malamute they are kind and caring and the hate with pitbuls only because of inexperienced owners

  • Please share with us. What is your research? What are your statistics?
These large breed dogs were mainly bred for purpose. Guard, Herding etc.
theses traits run deep in their genes.
I have personal experience with Bull Masttif, Rottweiler, Doberman. These fine breeds are extremely sound of temperament and intelligence. I’ve never met one I would consider dangerous. Even my rescue ventures have responded well to balanced handling. Dogs of their caliber are NOT overtly agrressive as their appearance might suggest. It takes the negligence and nastyness if an ignorant human being to cause these breeds to act contrary to their natural purpose.

  • This has got to be the dumbest list I have ever seen. I’ve owned 5 of the dogs on this list. Bull Mastiff, Husky, Malamute, Rottweiler and Pitbulls not one of them had any agression problems at all. Can a dog be vicious of course it can but it isnt the dog it’s how you train that dog. My two old Great Danes were lovable giants but you step foot in my home without me or my wife home they going to tear you up. My German Shepherd wouldn’t let you in my yard if she didn’t know you. I have mixed pitbull right now who is the most lovable thing in the world just wants attention from everybody but you try to harm my wife she is going to hurt you. One of our best friends has 4 chihuahuas one of them bites you everytime you walk in her door if he isnt put away in his room. Ever dog has the capability to bite someone but if taught well enough to interact with people from a young age there should never be a problem. It’s people who get these dogs and dont know how to train them or what the breed can do if left without rules just like a child you have to guide them with repeation. It’s all in the learn process!!!!!!

    • So, say you were out in the wild, in the woods at sundown and you came across a Bull Mastiff, Husky, Malamute, Rottweiler or Chihuahua that has never had an owner…which breed would you rather come across? Just curious.

  • are u gonna mad . If any dog is dangerous than why dogs are called a faithful animal , than any dog specialist never deny to train any dog .. I think U have not watch any dog till now or may be u are worst than any kind of dog.

  • Pretty toxic pictures I’d Say! Way to initiate that shock effect and drive Home the point the dogs do indeed have effing teeth. The pictures are Ridiculous and irresponsible. Shame on you

  • How in the world is the Caucasian on this list, let alone #1???? It is a wonderful dog…and is completely safe as a pet. Just because in the wild it isn’t messed with by bears, etc doesn’t mean it is dangerous. They are known to be incredible family dogs and non-aggressive. Do some more research…putting these with pit bulls and dobermans is insane.

    • Hey!go and do a research before u comment.first why the dog is called Caucasian shepherd in the 80’s. Secondly you say the dog is not aggressive cross his path and u Will know why the wolves are scared of the dog.

      • As a caucasian shepherd owner, I can attest that they are gentle giants. However, it is not a dog you want to fuck around with. He is extremely protective so much so that he will rip apart a wall if he needed to get to my 3-year-old son. This breed is not just any random breed. There is a reason why they are/were used as livestock guardians in one of the harshest conditions.

  • Young man go and do a reach or read more abt dogs before u comment, dog can b friendly or aggressive (dangerous) depending on d training is b giving by his owner.talking of rottweiler do u know 90 percent of death cause by dogs in US is rottweiler,I see u don’t know and now u know.every dogs have this kind nature but just don’t cross there zone.

  • Dingo while a lot smaller than others in this list will attack and kill small children. They are descended from domestic dogs so should be in this list.

  • I think whomever is publishing this page needs to learn a lot more about powerful dogs before tainting people’s opinions on these breeds.

First thing is first – any large dog can be trained to be a brutal aggressive animal. I loathe those kind of people that do that. Dogs are very much a product of their environment and how they were raised. People make dogs bad.

My two rotties are beautiful, dare I say majestic animals that are more likely to lick you to death than anything else. They are 120 lb teddy bears. They love to play, they love to cuddle. Their worse trait is that they believe themselves to be lap dogs.

  • I absolutely disagree with the false information being given here. Pit Bulls are NOT dangerous dogs and I will argue this to its bitter end. I am a Pit Bull owner and this breed has been misrepresented for far too long!!!! If you want a big dog that will be loyal to you and your family until the very end, you will never find a more loyal and loving dog!!!! Ever!!

  • This is the most absurd article I’ve ever read!!! I own 2 dobermans and a rottie mix. The only one that has a bad temperament is my rottie mix and that’s only bc she’s a rescue dog who was HORRIBLY abused! She and my dobies are HIGHLY protective of their momma but I’m also their alpha in our little family. But at the same time the 2 dobermans will love you to death and so will my rottie mix, once she’s warmed up to you. I have NEVER met a mean or aggressive pit bull, mastiff of any kind basically, St. Bernard, Rottweiler, Doberman or quite a few of the other dogs on this list. Honestly anybody, from anyplace does these kinds of lists to do ACTUAL research into the breeds and not opinion polls!! I mean why the hell isn’t the Golden Retriever on here??? They’re known biters!!! They’re better known to bite then half of the other dogs on this list!! Do your flipping research before naming a dog breed as aggressive. People are the reason why most dog breeds become aggressive.

  • This is wrong asf the kangal isn’t even on this list and it’s notorious for killing actual wolves ad a Turkish Sheppard dog

  • I own 2 pit bulls. My kids, family and friends love them. The dogs love back just as much.
Where do you folks get your intelligence from? I’ve been bitten by Chihuahuas resulting in stiches. Neither I nor anyone I know has ever been bitten by ANY ONE OF THE BREEDS LISTED ABOVE.
Seriously, is this a 4chan or maybe an 8chan fear monger post!

  • This is the most stupidest article I have ever read! Only circumstances make a dog ferocious, not a breed! The writer of this article is the worst kind of “journalist” ever. These kind of people are the ones who are dangerous!!

  • Humans are the most dangerous breed. It’s irresponsible and discriminatory to write off entire breeds of dogs, but ignorance is all too common, and any idiot can write a blog. Anyone with a semblance of knowledge about dogs would not. Shame on you for spreading this sort of ignorance.

  • The comments on this page are crazy.
So…. Let’s just get this straight. Titling this the most dangerous dog breeds in the world is misleading. ALL dogs can be dangerous, it all depends on the owner. If a dog has been mistreated, improperly trained (as in not taught to “behave” aka not jump or bite people) or even trained to be aggressive, well then they are more likely to be aggressive aren’t they?Dogs are most likely to be aggressive to someone if they think they are threatening them or their owner, its an instinct all dogs have. Saying that certain breeds are “most dangerous” is ridiculous. I’m sorry but these types of articles/blogs/etc seriously damage a dogs chance of being adopted etc. What if someone was thinking about adopting a puppy rottweiler and then read this? That dog could be forgotten about and left behind. It’s all really in the training and the owner. There are only bad owners not dogs!

  • okay whoever wrote this…
    YOU NEED HELP!!!
i have a pitbull and she is sweet and snuggles and my neighbor also has a pitbull and that pitbull is sweet and lovable too.
for the other dogs did you know that small dogs (i’m not saying this to fault them) bite more then big dogs but the bite is minor so it’s less likely to get reported.
you prob have been bitten so you have a biased opinion, BUT GUESS WHAT! i have been bitten (not by any of those breeds) and i love dogs and YOU ARE AN IDIOT!!!!!!!!!

  • guys, the article isn’t stating weather the listed dogs are aggressive, it’s talking about the features that these dogs do have by nature that could help them fight if they did. this is a list of the most aggressive dogs compared to other dogs (but only aggressive if they need to). i do agree about the pitbull thing, idk how you think pitbulls have any aggressive nature

  • Wow! Way to feed into the negative stereotypes. I personally own Rottweilers (was raised with them), have my entire life.
I’ve been bitten several times by small breeds, but never a large breed. Personal opinion, but 9/10 times it’s all in how you raise any breed. This dog has power, and unfortunately often attract irresponsible owners, and aren’t properly trained or socialized. The difference between them and the smaller breeds is sadly the size of the dog (thus the smaller ones inflict less damage) if every bite was actually reported no matter the damage I would bet money the list would change!!
The humans are the ones to blame majority of the time, but sadly the breed gets the bad reputation, and stereotypes.
I don’t know why, but I feel like a reputable site wouldn’t post stereotypes on their page…. oh well. Unfollow, and share with the masses as to why.

  • Do you not have any standards required be upheld by your staff?
No accuracy requirement? No cite sourcing or info vetting?
If all you require from writers is something finished by the deadline (sincefactual content, convincing professional undertone, grammar and punctuation are not)… Are you hiring? Cuz, I’ll be honest…I’ve been bullsh*tting my way through the better part of my existence…..and I’m dang good at it. I’ll even pull out my proper grammar and punctuation, which should be a refreshing change, too. ????
Apparently this is ACTUALLY click bait operation, hiding beneath a poorly veiled guise of “random facts” to generate sales for the companies who advertise therein…

Because it sure as hell ain’t legitimacy you’re strivin’ for.
Click bait business or not…if you’re going to put it out there… why not be real info? Why dumb down the masses? The current admin has that gig covered already. Don’t exploit societal misconceptions to avoid the headache of enforcing standards.

That’s it. That’s all I had. If someone of significance at “Most Today” reads this…I’m not sorry to have wasted your time since I know this will go nowhere. Besides…now we’re even because your articles have wasted mine… more than once. So.
    Huh.
    Thanks for reading, though.

  • This is all great stuff but these are all opinions so can everyone just stop. Why does everything have to be an argument like yes Pitbulls are deadly but so are wolf dogs I’ve seen them kill each other both in kind. If you find this offensive then you should have kept it to yourself remember that negativity is why people don’t like each other like calling people dumb assess why? If you really have something to say remember it’s an opinion if you think differently give props then say something but be nice about it share info not criticism how am I supposed to look something up if you are saying the most out of the ordinary things. Just add on don’t degrade it we aren’t in high school are elementary anymore

  • Malamutes? Really? I had a full grown Malamute over 40 years ago. Weighted 85 pounds. He was a protector of me and my first wife. When my wife was pregnant with my son the dog would put his head on her tummy and listen to the unborn child. When my son was born the dog would lick his feet and cuddle with him. Nobody, even me, could touch the dog’s tail because he would snap and bite. But my baby son would grab his tail and chomp on it and the dog would not care. NOBODY could get close to the baby except family. He would turn into an aggresive beast if anyone got close to the baby. We would go to a park, leave the baby with the dog and walk away and the dog would not leave the baby alone. Somebody tried to approach them and all hell would get loose. He did that naturally, nobody taught him.

  • Majority of the dog breeds listed here are actually dangerous.

Also, some small dog breeds are more dangerous than bigger dog breeds.
