Ireland is an amazing destination and has a lot to offer to every traveler. 1. Guinness Storehouse
Guinness is the most recognized Irish brand in the world, so it’s no wonder that the Guinness brewery, also known as St. James’s Gate Brewery is one of the most popular attractions in Dublin. The brewery was founded in 1759 and the tour exhibits over 250 years of Guinness history. The tour is one of the best brewery tours in the world
2. Trinity College and Library and the Book of Kells
Trinity College was founded in 1592 by Queen Elizabeth I. The Trinity College Library is home to over a million books, the most famous being the “Book of Kells”. The book was written around 800 AD and is famous for being one of the most beautiful manuscripts in the world. Its 680 vellum pages contain the text of the Four Gospels in Latin
3. Temple Bar
The Temple Bar is an area south of the Liffey river. The area is known as Dublin‘s cultural quarter and has a lively nightlife. The area is very popular among tourists
4. St. Patrick’s Cathedral
The national Cathedral of Ireland and the largest church in the country was founded in 1191! More recently, it was renovated between the years 1844 and 1869, giving it its current look and feel of a neo-gothic style
5. Phoenix Park
A 1,750 acres urban park in Dublin. Phoenix Park is one of the largest city parks in Europe. The park includes Dublin’s Zoo, big green lawn, woodland, many historical and religious monuments and an old fort. Several hundreds of Deer live within the park’s boundaries as well
6. Dublin Castle
Formerly the center of British rule in Ireland, today Dublin Castle is an Irish government complex. The Dublin Castle was used mainly for administrative purposes for centuries and centuries, and each era left its own mark on the structures. These days the best attraction is the Chester Beatty Library, which holds some of the best collections of Eastern art in the world
7. National Gallery of Ireland
The gallery opened in 1864. It has a wonderful collection of Irish and European paintings and other works of art. Surprisingly, the entrance to the permanent exhibition of Ireland’s National Gallery is free of charge
8. Kilmainham Gaol
This notorious prison is now a museum for Irish history. The leaders of the 1916 Easter Rising were executed in this prison while many other Irish leaders were imprisoned here
9. National Museum of Ireland
The National Museum is divided into four different centres with different topics on archaeology, decorative arts & history, country life, and natural history. They emphasize Irish history and heritage
